As a Naturopath, I follow the holistic guidelines to avoid harming the patient: by utilizing methods and medicinal substances which minimize the risk of harmful side effects, using the least force necessary to diagnose and treat; by avoiding when possible, the harmful suppression of symptoms; and with acknowledging respect for the individuals’ self-healing process. I encourage individuals to consider their own individual physical, mental, emotional, genetic makeup* and reflect on their surrounding environmental, social, and belief systems and contributing factors that make the whole BEing. The personal spiritual development and healing of the individual requires encouragement and self-responsibility before one can build a trust. Trust in the body’s inherent wisdom to heal itself.

With a natural medicine approach, my focus is You, not your symptoms or your DISease or Diagnosis. Understanding the physiology of what is going on in your body as a guide on identifying and treating at the level of the root cause of your ‘Healing Crisis’ instead of chasing and suppressing symptoms. We know when the body is out of balance, symptoms arise, and we can ease these and identify and treat the cause of the imbalances. * Every BEing is unique, and every individual needs a plan that is adapted to your life, needs and goals.

My Oath as a Naturopath
Vis Medicatrix Naturae, The Healing Power of Nature
Trust in the body’s inherent wisdom to heal itself.
Naturopathic medicine recognizes an inherent self-healing process in people that is ordered and intelligent. Naturopathic physicians act to identify and remove obstacles to healing and recovery, and to facilitate and augment this inherent self-healing process.
Tolle Causam, Identify and Treat the Causes
Look beyond the symptoms to the underlying cause.
The naturopathic physician seeks to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness rather than to merely eliminate or suppress symptoms.
Primum Non Nocere, First Do No Harm
Utilize the most natural, least invasive, and least toxic therapies.
Naturopathic physicians follow three guidelines to avoid harming the patient: utilize methods and medicinal substances which minimize the risk of harmful side effects, using the least force necessary to diagnose and treat; avoid when possible, the harmful suppression of symptoms; and acknowledge, respect, and work with individuals’ self-healing process.
Docere, Doctor as Teacher
Educate patients in the steps to achieving and maintaining health.
Naturopathic physicians educate their patients and encourage self-responsibility for health. They also recognize and employ the therapeutic potential of the doctor-patient relationship.
Tolle Totum, Treat the Whole Person
View the body as an integrated whole in all its physical and spiritual dimensions.
Naturopathic physicians treat each patient by considering individual physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, and other factors. Since total health also includes spiritual health, naturopathic physicians encourage individuals to pursue their personal spiritual development.
Praevenire, Prevention
Focus on overall health, wellness, and disease prevention.
Naturopathic physicians emphasize the prevention of disease by assessing risk factors, heredity, and susceptibility to disease, and by making appropriate interventions in partnership with their patients to prevent illness.
Growing up, using natural remedies was a way of living and healing; I never questioned or queried this way of life, as I never knew any different.
My Baba (grandmother) introduced grounding to me when I was 7 years old. I was a child, and my Baba did not give it a name, a prescription, or a healing therapy; she told me to take my shoes off when I go play outside and feel the ground under my feet. When I was stir-crazy inside the house, my Baba would make me go outside and feel the grass between my toes and know that I am ‘connected to this earth’. Translated from Macedonian it sounds a bit different but essentially, she was trying to bring me back down from my flighty energy and reconnect in the now.
